HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

Image
Hi Everyone, What a year!  Please hug your child from me and tell them how proud I am of them.  This will be a time we all never forget.  As much as I wish things could be different, I have to look at the optimistic side of things and know that this WILL make our students stronger, more adaptable to things we can't control and grow their character.  I will miss them so much and I wish you all a fabulous summer! Student Belongings IF families are allowed to pick and drop off items next week or in the summer months, I have stored ALL of your child's materials including journals, writer's notebooks, headphones, etc. from their cubbies in their locker .  Please do NOT ENTER the classroom.  Everything that they had in the classroom is now in their lockers.  Anything not picked up will be unfortunately thrown away so please make sure to check your emails for when picking up/distribution is. I have collected their library books if they were in their cubbies and I will

Hi Everyone, It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the school year.  I appreciate everyone for trying their best during these difficult times but still persevering through our school closure.  I am very proud of my students and can't believe we are coming to the end of the school year.  I hope you have a fantastic summer and come back next year and visit me!   Parents - if you could please send one current picture of your child for me for our end of the year picture to post on the blog for the last week of school I would appreciate it.   For those of you who don't know, I grew tomato plants from seed this year at my home and named a plant after each student.  I asked the students their seating preferences and planted them in my "classroom" garden bed accordingly.  Now, I get to be with them all summer and watch them grow even more!  Check out the pictures of my "students" in their tomato form on the Class Photos page! Hello June!

Hi Everyone, I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day Weekend.  We had a shorter week this week and we are gearing up for the last two weeks of school.  I planted all the plants that I named after the students in my class and took into account their seating requests!  They are "sitting" with their friends from our classroom learning community!  Check out the class photos and the different varieties that represent them.  They will be with me until the fall! :0) Google Classroom Assignments Please check with your child if all of the Google Classroom Assignments are up to date and complete up to now.  I would like all assignments completed no later than Monday, June 8.  The last week of school will be filled with assignments that don't require a check for understanding.  There are also other surprises and graduation coming! Persuasive Essay Writing Unit I hope everyone enjoyed the persuasive essay unit.  If your child did the assignments daily, they should have w

While there is no school on Monday, I will post a few fun outdoor optional activities for you to do. Otherwise please take the time to unplug, enjoy time together, connect with nature, and relax!   Check the classroom photos page to see how our red wormies moved into a new compost bin while some were left behind for a revamped bin! She will be answering questions that fifth graders have.  We will have an 8th-grade student guest to help answer questions too!
